What Do I Need to Pick-up My Car Rental From Europcar?

To ensure that your rental pick-up process goes as smoothly as possible, we strongly recommend having the below items ready to present the rental agent upon your arrival.

Europcar Fuel Policy

Europcar has two different options in regards to their fuel policy, Full to Empty and Full to Full. Below you will find a breakdown of these two options for returning your vehicle and fuel.

• Full to Empty: Client will be charged for the initial tank of fuel and should return the vehicle as empty as possible. No refund for unused fuel.
• Full to Full: Client must refuel the vehicle within 25 kilometers of the rental station and provide a receipt. The receipt must be dated same day of return and show how much fuel was added. Otherwise, a locally determined refueling fee will apply to replace the fuel.

Europcar Age Policy

If you are booking a rental car from Europcar, drivers as young as 18 will find rental options in certain countries like Croatia and the US. In other countries, like the UK, Europcar requires drivers to be at least 25 years old to book their rental vehicle. In countries like France and Mexico, the minimum age to rent a car is 21. No matter where you choose to rent your car drivers under the age of 25 will receive a "Young Driver" daily charge. Europcar Cross Border Policy

Depending on the location of your Europcar rental (country, state, etc.) you may take your vehicle across borders. For example, if you rent a car in Germany you can visit most of the surrounding Western Europe. Be sure to let the rental agent know if you plan to go through Austria, as you will need to purchase a toll decal in order to operate a vehicle on their roads. Failure to procure a toll decal will result in a potential fine up to $200 USD.

Car Rental Insurance and Additional Options with Europcar

Travelers booking a rental car with Europcar will have the option to add additional insurance coverage to their vehicle in the booking process. All Auto Europe "Basic Rates" include Value Added Tax (VAT), liability insurance, and fire insurance. In Italy drivers are required to have CDW insurance and theft protection insurance for all vehicles. Some other cities in Europe, Paris being one of them, require these additional insurances as well. Travelers can save money by purchasing rental car insurance when they book their car rather than paying a higher daily rate when you pick-up your vehicle. In a sampling of Europcar rentals in European cities, we found inclusive insurance rates tend to add on between $5-$15 USD to your Europcar rental rate daily. The highest level of insurance available, no deductible, extended insurance coverage, adds on an extra $15-$25 USD to the daily rental rate. Can I cancel my Europcar booking?

Can I return my Europcar rental to a different location?
