But now, wine is what this part of Tuscany is famous for. The 52 hectares of Verrazzano vineyards date back to the 12th Century and still produce wine to this day, produced by current owners the Cappellini family. You can visit the vineyards and the wine cellars throughout the summer with one of the castle's wine tours, which include lunch and tasting options.

The villa was bought by the Medici family in 1477, and the family commissioned the gardens to be built in 1538 by Niccolo Tribolo, making them one of the first Italian gardens in history. The garden features numerous sculptures, terraces, the Cave of Animals, and two hidden secret gardens. It's also free to visit the gardens!
