Driving License Requirements in MacedoniaIn order to drive a car in Macedonia, you must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid license from your country of origin that is in good standing, during the time of your trip.
You must be at least 25 years of age to drive a rental car in Macedonia and hold a valid driving license. There will be some vehicles available for people 21-25 years, you must check this before you book your rental car in Skopje or anywhere else throughout the country.

General Macedonia driving information, laws rules and regulations:
All passengers, drivers included, must wear a seatbelt at all times while in a car in Macedonia.
The use of a cell phone while driving is prohibited, with the exception of a hands-free system.
Drivers are to carry at all times while driving, a valid driver’s license, registration documents and insurance documents.
Dipped headlights must be used in daylight hours.
You will find Leaded, Super, Unleaded, Diesel, Euro Diesel and LPG at Macedonia refueling stations. It is easier to carry the local currency in cash as not all cards are accepted.
All the motorways in Macedonia are toll roads and use a ticket system. You take a ticket at the beginning of your drive then hand it to the Macedonia toll inspector at your exit and pay the amount equal to the distance traveled.
People in Macedonia park anywhere and everywhere. Even in the middle of the road, so be careful where you park and make sure it is somewhere safe where your valuables are not on display.
