" Auto Europe was very easy to deal with. I had a question during the car rental period, and I emailed them. I had an answer within 24 hours, which was fine since it was not an urgent question. I've also had in previous times had to call Auto Europe and they were very helpful. I go back to them again and again when I have car rental needs. "
" Overall, very easy. Other than pointing out the car, no one helped me with it, however, and while I've driven many a stick shift, there were differences that I had to find someone to ask about. There was a key fob and a start button, and I didn't know that I had to push in the clutch to start the car and not the brake pedal, which is more usual to me. There should be at least a quick overview of the car, lights, wipers, what kind of gas, etc., before rushing back into the office. Also, I had no idea of the tax I would owe at the end. I knew about the gas, but not about the Euro 80 tax, which fortunately was not a problem, but not known ahead of time. Car was great, had a screen that I could pair my phone with and had the apps right there, and overall experience was good. "

There are no Peugeot dealers in our area so we were not able to look at a similar car before we committed to the short-term lease option. The car really was too small for 4 adults to fit comfortably. We even had the unfortunate situation where someone hit our vehicle while it was parked in a parking lot overnight, causing only minor cosmetic damage, and with a couple of emails of photos of the damage all was taken care of. No time lost from our trip or hassles with insurance claims. I will recommend this to anyone wanting to do a tour of Europe. "

" The only problem with the car (a Nissan) was that it was woefullly underpowered for a car of its size and weight, which made it a problem on the German Autobahn where one needs a responsive machine to negotiate the quick speeds for passing. Even downshifting into, say, fourth gear from seldom provided the safe acceleration needed. Also, even on gradual inclines I often had to downshift to maintain a reasonable pace. "

" Had a slight problem with the car. M-B E 220 d. On the A-7 crossing the Afsluitdijk, traffic down to one lane, car would not accelerate. Would only go 5 or 6 MPH no matter where my foot was. After .6 mile was able to get to right and restart. OK after that. Inside of windshield was dirty. Dangerous into setting sun. Otherwise, loved the car. Returning car was chaos. Lots of returns at same time. Hertz agent was good. He backed me into a space with the front hanging out. All he could do. Ten minutes later the place was empty. "

It took several attempts to figure out how to use the cruise control. The Renault had one switch between the seats that turned it on. Not auto europes fault, just a bad car design. It took an additional step to turn the system "on" (left hand side of the steering column) to set the speed. Lastly a third off/resume switch (on the right hand side of the steering column) was needed to complete the process. "

They claim to have no visibility of the rental record generated in Amsterdam. All we received was a photocopy of the Rental Record with some handwritten notes stating date & time of return, kilometer reading and a statement the gas tank was full. There is no record of vehicle condition acknowledging there was no damage. The Rental Record shows what the charge would be for returning the car with less then a full tank, the agent in Amsterdam told us they had to put It on even though we declined it on our original reservation with you but would be removed if tank was full. I have sent my concerns to Hertz. "

" Hertz provided us with an upgraded vehicle (from what I could tell) and the vehicle itself was brand new. Our return was at the Schiphol Airport for which Hertz did not provide an address. SInce we came into the airport from our hotel there were no directional signs. Hertz rep at the airport told us t o program the address into the GPS. No address - go figure. Also - the GPS in the Nissan product was faulty or far behind map editions. In Leiden, Netherlands we were repeatedly taken into dead end cul-de-sacs, on bicycle paths or closed parking lots. In this case, it was good to have our own handheld GPS. Overall, Hertz is a good rental company in Europe "

Even though the fuel guage showed full, it was OBVIOUSLY not full. When we got fuel, after driving less than 75 Km it took Euro 22.36 to fill it completely. After driving all around the area the next day and making a trip to Hoorn, it took only Euro 19,38 to fill it COMPLETELY full before we returned the car. The vehicle was in excellent shape, but seemed to be under powered in comparison to what we are accustom to driving. Drop off was equally trouble free. "

" I called and talked to a couple of the employees for an international trip I was doing during a study abroad. They were able to look up all the information that I requested in a timely manner and I was able to end up with a vehicle at about half of the price I was originally quoted once we played with pick-up and drop-off locations (I drive through more than one country so hard to be international one way fees that varied a lot by country). I was happy to book everything over the phone after they had answered my questions. "
" Hertz was very helpful and their employees went out of their way to be customer oriented and answer any questions that we had (be it about Hertz, the vehicle, other options such as GPS, driving confitions in Amsterdam, how speeding tickets worked, etc etc.). We ended up decided to add GPS and it was less expensive for us to do a car upgrade than to add a GPS so they suggested that and got us a hybrid so I ended up saving quite a bit from what I had originally booked. We saved around 100 euros with the gps / car upgrade, and more than 50 euros in fuel economy with the car being upgraded to a hybrid. "

Criticism: the quotation is missing Kasco insurance, if you do not want it all right, but if you were to do it then the rent would be higher than the other agencies. In addition, you pay a surcharge of 70 Dutch Agency for the withdrawal of the car at the airport (the cost seems excessive to me). "

What we don't like are the rather misty 'insurance' options, which make comparisons hard, so we have taken out our own 'car rental insurance' giving us blanket cover at a reasonable rate. This could be something to offer your regular clients (like us). We also don't like the hassle of going through you guys, rather than the local car rental company, when it comes to getting a rebate on the rental when we return the car early. "

" I use Auto Europe frequently and really like the transparency of package rates including insurance. My only complaint is not being able to distinguish between cars being picked up in Amsterdam Schipol airport and those that are picked up by taking a shuttle from the airport. From several experiences, I would not rent a car from Dollar/Thrifty that involves a shuttle. I find this adds about an hour to the pickup/drop off procedure. I suggest adding weather the pickup is inside the airport during a search. Thanks. "
" I have received rentals from this location several times now. I find the quality of the rental car was quite low. The ignition kept getting stuck making it difficult to start. The power mirrors did not work. The windshield wipers smeared water instead of properly clearing it. And the car smelled like cigarette smoke inside. The shuttle from the airport adds about 1 hour to the pickup/dropoff procedure. Sometimes you have to wait 20-30mins to get picked up. Then when you arrive at the office there is a line of people making the wait even longer. I will not rent from this location of Dollar/Thrify again. "

" Hidden cost of the license fee was unexpected, and made the car expensive to hire. When given a total at booking I expect to know ALL the costs (as with other aggregators) . I feel that AutoEurope purposefully hides this cost until you hire the car. I will not be using AutoEurope again. The one way fee was expected, so no problems there. I recommend being more up front with your customers. The rental guy said to me: 'ahhh... you booked with autoeurope - they always have hidden costs - and then he showed me the fine print. Dissappointed. "

" It was almost okay, except for 2 things: 1. First i get a message that AUTOEUROPE does not guarantee a car. I was in a hurry, and i was not sure whether the car was reserved, for a couple of hours. That is very annoying keeping in mind that you charged the amount from the credit card. So even after your confirmed i even decided to contact EUROPCAR to validate the car reservation=your reserv. was not clear. 2. When i got to the EUROPCAR office they told me that i have to pay near 75 euro more, but as i remember, AUTOEUROPE did not warn me (or i did not notice = notification was like 'small letters' or something.
