    What is Zero Excess Insurance?

Zero Excess/Deductible Car RentalCollision damage waiver (CDW) and theft protection (TP) insurance adds peace of mind to any Auto Europe car rental. Most insurance will include an excess, or deductible, with their policy. In the event of an accident, the driver is charged an amount of money to cover part of the damage estimates. This is your excess amount. Excess/deductibles can range from several hundred to several thousand dollars. Zero Excess means that you won't be responsible for paying anything in the event the car is damaged or in an accident.

In most countries, Auto Europe offers Zero-Excess Insurance options for nearly all size rental cars, and these options reduce the deductible to $0. Auto Europe is happy to help you avoid having to pay any car excess or deductible where these Zero-Excess/Deductible rates are available.

When you choose a 0 Excess or 0 Deductible rate, you remove the excess you'd be responsible for in the event of an accident. Look for vehicles listed with a "No Deductible Rate" (pictured above) and enjoy renting a car with CDW and TP insurance; with no deductibles to pay in the event of a collision. Zero Excess is not the same as Excess Refund. If you choose a Refundable Excess you can claim your excess back if your rental car is damaged or if the vehicle is stolen. Learn more about Refundable Excess.

    Zero Excess with Super Coverage

CDW covers most of the car if you're in a collision, but may exclude the side mirrors, undercarriage, roof, wheels, windshield, windows, and interior depending on the supplier. It's wise to carefully read the terms and conditions for your individual rental supplier so you don't have any surprises if an accident occurs.

An extended coverage insurance option is available from some suppliers to continue your zero deductible coverage to the glass, interior, chassis, tires, and roof.

If you don't see the type of coverage you wanted listed in the search results, give our specialists a call at 1-888-223-5555 and we will make sure you get the level of coverage you're most comfortable with.

Common Question: What do I do if the local supplier representative insists that I purchase their additional insurance when I have already obtained an Auto Europe excess protection product?

Best Answer: If you're ever in doubt about whether or not you should or shouldn't pay charges requested at the pick-up counter call our agents. We're available 24/7 to act as your ambassador and to make sure you're comfortable with the level of protection you receive, and that you don't overpay.

CDW, Theft Protection, Zero Excess & Super Cover Insurance Explained

    1. CDW and Theft Protection greatly reduce the amount of deductible you're responsible for in the event of a collision or theft.

    2. A Zero Excess or Zero Deductible option reduces or removes the deductible owed with an inclusive CDW and Theft Protection plan in the event of a collision or theft.

    3. The Extended Coverage option, also known as Super Cover, gives you all the benefits of the zero car excess insurance, but extends them to parts of the car not previously covered, such as the wheels, roof, and windshield.

Advantages of Purchasing Zero-Excess Insurance Directly from Auto Europe

    Save Time

When booking your car rental online, you can save time by also booking and paying for our products like zero car excess insurance coverage. This way you will not have to worry about the additional coverage anymore, nor will you have to check whether it is offered by the local car rental company, or pay for the service locally.

    Save Money

Even when the local company does offer additional types of coverage, Auto Europe's products are usually significantly cheaper than those locally offered packages. Book your coverage when you book your car and you can save some serious money.

What if the Local Supplier Insists That You Purchase Additional Insurance?

Any local car rental company's employees are usually trusted with sales, so they will probably try to sell various company products to customers. With a few exceptions, all insurance products offered locally will be optional. If the offered product is said to remove the excess, it will probably not be needed in addition to the excess coverage you've purchased in advance from Auto Europe. If you are hiring a car driver, insurance is included so no need to worry about adding additional coverage.

Zero Excess/Deductible Car RentalThe car rental company may offer insurance covering the car parts not normally covered by the basic package included in Auto Europe's rates. Should this be the case, it is entirely up to you to decide whether they want to buy this additional insurance if you have not already. Please bear in mind, Auto Europe's Super Cover already covers these items, which is why we highly recommend this product for added peace of mind during your upcoming trip.
