What to see in Florida! Who has not dreamed of going to Disneyworld or Florida parks in general! The thing is not that far from becoming a reality if you plan it well, and, surprisingly, the final budget should not go out of the blue. In this post, we will try to show you what to see and do in Florida and make you want to take 10 or 15 days to get closer to this part of the United States with Auto Europe.
The first thing we must solve is the flight issue. The ideal city to land and see Florida on a budget in Miami. It is one of the most important North American hubs, so finding a relatively affordable flight should not be costly. Perhaps a combination with New York may solve two highlights that have always been on our travel agenda. The hotels are not going to be very expensive either as there is a wide range of offers and prices, it is a matter of looking closely. For the route, we leave you a few ideas:
It is a city dreamed of by most travelers. The Florida metropolis offers magnificent beaches. You can visit downtown, cold-like almost all the centers of North American cities, or smoke a pure Cuban style in Little Havana, see the animals of Jungle Island or experience the atmosphere of South Beach, or even just visit the "Doralzuela", is the town of Doral, very close to Miami and you can find the biggest Venezuelan colony in the country.
And it is that even some of the hotels in Miami are a tourist attraction in themselves. On Ocean Drive, you can take a tour of the Art Deco hotels in the city. You will hardly find another place in the world with so many buildings of that style and so well preserved after almost 100 years.
It is one of the wildest areas in the USA and a World Heritage Site and a Biosphere Reserve. The best way to tour the mangroves of the Everglades is with a hovercraft that you can book at any agency that offers one of these tours. You can go out at full speed from the crocodile farms with one of these boats with large fans that cross its waters at full speed, looking for alligators in its corners.
This is not the south; it is the southernmost part of the US !! After crossing several keys linked by huge bridges, you will arrive at this tourist island. Do not miss the Southernmost Point, the southernmost point of the States, where the Caribbean begins and the closest point to Cuba. 150 kilometers will separate you from the waters of the great Caribbean island.
Miami is the most important cruise port in the world; the Caribbean is up to you. A 4-day getaway to the Bahamas in one of these great ships will not cost you a significant outlay, at least considering that it is the best opportunity you will have to do so.
It's time to head north to Orlando and its parks. Here you already know what you are coming to; it is the most important theme park center globally.
If you have not had the opportunity to ride a hovercraft in the Miami Everglades, now is the time to do it in the surroundings of Orlando. Nothing to envy to those of Miami.
You should not leave Orlando without visiting the Space Kennedy Center. In the post that I attach in the link, I specify everything you can do in this center. Beware that it is not little, and the truth is that it is one of those unforgettable days of travel. Totally a must or an essential in Florida.
And my last recommendation on the things to see in Florida goes to those who like History. Do you know that Florida is the oldest city in the United States? Well, yes, friends, Saint Augustine. The old fort is a must for lovers of this discipline.
