The Museum of National History at Frederiksborg Palace exhibits the history of Denmark and houses a considerable collection of portraits, historical paintings and modern art.

    Elsinore is a port city in eastern Denmark and home to Kronborg Castle and the Maritime Museum of Denmark. The Kronborg Castle is the actual castle that Shakespeare set Hamlet in! There are many mysteries surrounding Shakespeare and whether or not he ever visited Kronborg Castle is one of them. The unique experience begins even before you enter the Maritime Museum of Denmark. Follow the sloping bridge down into the former dry dock between Kronborg Castle and The Culture Yard and enter a fabulous underground museum, designed by the world-renowned Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) architects. Beyond exploring Elsinore we recommend visiting the lovely beaches along the Danish Riviera.
