" Well handled in all respects. You all helped nicely when Avis said no GPS in the car and offered a device based solution, first at one price then a higher one. Good follow through to make sure there wasn't any attempted bait and switch at the counter. "
" At pickup, it became obvious we weren't going to get the model (Mercedes) hoped for based on the booking, but the counter guy worked through with me what would be a good fit with what he had. Turn in was good, went by the counter well before we were going to turn in (after dinner) and one woman at the counter was very helpful in discussing the turn in, how and where to park, getting the invoice in the morning, how to check in case we had inadvertently hit tolls. One of the more efficient turn in operations we've experienced in Europe "

I have recommended your company to at least a dozen other travelers because you have totally nailed an efficient and customer-oriented business. Your staff are wonderful, both in picking up the car (in Milano) and dropping it off (in Paris). They are knowledgable, friendly, and so service-oriented. Great company with great service! I'll be renting from you again next year. "
" Citroen is a fantastic vehicle (we have rented them several times over the years). I did discover that the C4 is too small for me, though. When we return to Europe next year, I'll be looking for something with more leg room in the driver's seat. I'm 6'3" and getting in and our of the car was a challenge - it was workable but not something I would want to do again. One other item; the gas mileage of the C4 is fantastic! "

" While driving to Venice airport on January first the car started shaking violently managed to exit the freeway and called Avis road assistance the contact number was only responsible to send a tow truck not to arrange for my travel neither for Booking another vehicle. The light on the car showed an engine failure, lucky the tow truck driver helped me finding a taxi as I was 30miles away from vce and needed to pick up my husband who was arriving from Japan. At the Avis office at the airport I was given another car and was told to email the taxi receipt for 80 euros to receive reimbursement later another customer representative told just to present the receipt at Malpensa where I initially rented the car to get money back. At the Malpensa desk the Avis lady insinuated I was responsible for damaging the engine since it happened after 2 weeks and tha they had to confirm the problem before refunding the taxi fare. I have sum mitt ed the taxi receipt and all the other documentation 10 days ago and have not revived a reply yet. Horrible customer service and unsafe vehicle "

Even with my car rental document and all details confirmed, this process required more than 45 minutes. As expected, the Avis agent attempted to sell features (e.g., Snow chains) that I had already purchased, which is highly unethical. Luckily, I still received a quality rental vehicle which served me well for an 8+ day journey. It is a shame that the car pickup process is still characterized by unethical tactics and gross inefficiency. "

There was complete confusion by Avis what I supposed to do. Received numerous calls without clear instructions - mostly asking what happened. I was sent to a closed Avis location to get a new car. Than, I drove 50km to with broken window in order to get new car. The reasons it was so good are the speed in which i was served in Milan Malpensa at the hire desk,then the car was just a few minutes walk away, The car itself was clean and ready to drive away. Then on return the check back in was quick and they even parked the car for me. i will only ever use Hertz now- it is worth paying a tiny bit extra for the far superior service and enough staff to avoid the huge queues at the cheaper rental desks. and actually the price i got from hertz was a total bargain and i got full insurance included so no horrible up-selling by the check in staff. Honestly it was just a good experience compared to other budget providers who i usually book with. "

The only issue we had was finding an open gas station (that accepted credit cards without a pin) near Malpensa airport to refill the tank. As a result, we had to end up paying a premium cost to EuropCar to fill the tank upon return. Next time we will purchase the full tank up front. "

" We have used them other times, including South Africa, and have always been very satisfied. We also rented a GPS unit which usually worked pretty good. Twice, a lot better than our cellphone GPS. (However, twice it just sent us on the same wrong loop, not knowing where it was). Plus using their GPS saved data usage. My advise is to have both Google maps and Garmin from Auto Europe. "

Car came equipped with a GPS so we didn't need the one we'd pre-rented from Autoeurope but no way around that and it worked great. Only downside which we didn't realize until return was that no one 'walked' car with us at pick up so drop off tech opened hatch only to find no spare tire or emergency kit. He'd asked if someone had walked car with us and since they hadn't we had no idea. Happily it wasn't needed. "

" Our rental in Milan went fine when we picked up the car, and the car, a very low mileage Skoda Olympia, was absolutely perfect for European roads and parking. I told my wife that I would buy the car if I lived in Europe (though it's no match for my larger Toyota Avalon here in the States). But we had a HUGE problem returning the car at Malpensa. First, there is NO SIGN that I or my wife could see at the airport for WHERE to return the damned cars. So we went round and round in increasing frustration and fury trying to find such a sign. Finally, my wife thought to put Hertz rental return into our own GPS, and that worked. But Hertz needs to provide precise printed instructions at the time of rental concerning how to return their cars. We left the car without the slightest scratch, and with a full tank, but since our crazy attempt to find the rental return forced us to arrive after Hertz closed, probably at 11PM, I had to drop off the key and contract w/o Hertz's signing off on the return. Since I've seen on attempt to charge us for anything on my credit card, I assume that all was well. If so, we were very happy with the rental itself, just very frustrated with the return. I remember explicitly asking the rental agent at the time of rental about return map, instructions, etc., and she seemed to just wave that all off and gave us nothing. That is a SERIOUS flaw at an airport with such terrible signage as Malpensa's, and needs to be corrected by Hertz ASAP. "

" At the initial inspection, the car seemed fine. But after leaving i found that half of the features on the radio were inaccessible since the touch screen did not work in many places. Secondly, after 7 days all of the tires required air, they were all very low, having only 20 lbs in them. these are not things that you can tell from a visual inspection. "

" Have always had a good experience and I find the make of vehicles offered are more desirable than some other companies. In general, I get confused with Auto Europe / Europcar names being switched about. I'm always afraid at the airport that I'm going to the wrong location! Also, had indication to drop the keys in the dropbox at the Bologna airport as our departure was very early. I assumed that meant in the parking deck but when we arrived, a sign directed to the desk inside the terminal. I would have liked to have known that in advance so that I could plan extra time. "

We tried to change the location of where we wanted to pick up and drop off the car, and that would have cost $400 more than our original location, as prices went up on June 1. I think that if you make the reservation, the prices should be guaranteed based on the type of car, and not the destination, but I am not in the auto rental business. "
" We picked up our car at Milan's Malpensa airport. We were greeted at the entrance by a lovely woman who spoke English, who was the facilitator, making sure everyone got what they needed. We decided to change the location of where we dropped off the car from Malpensa to Linate. The man helping us behind the desk forgot to note that change, so I had to go back. The woman at the front got it taken care of for me in very little time, and we were able to make the change without any problems. It was dark in the garage where we picked up the car and later in the day we noticed a big scratch on the car. We were worried but found the scratch was already noted in the paperwork. Giovanni, who greeted us at Linate, made it a great experience. "

Also restrooms are quite far from the return offices so be prepared. "

" I called Auto Europe several times and was always very satisfied with the service I received from everyone with whom I spoke. I wish that the description of the car was more detailed. I booked a Mercedes Minivan from the premium class of cars, however, this car was anything but premium. It was very basis and all of the passenger seats were bench seats and couldn't be adjusted in any way, not even the incline. Not very comfortable for a 'Premium' van. The van was also very dirty when I picked it up. I had to spend my own money and over an hour vacuuming and wiping the interior before I could let anyone sit in there. Once again, not what I expected for a premium class rental. Not worth the premium price I paid. "

" I have been a long time customer and I am satisfied with Auto Europe's service. However the latest rental in Milan, Italy did not go as smoothly as I had hoped. Please see below. "
" Our flight arrived in Milan 4 hours late. At the Europcar counter we were told that the car that we had reserved (Alfa Romero Giulietta) was given away. We were offered another car (Toyota?) that was much bigger but we declined. We were driving around the Lake Come region were roads are extremely narrow. Finally we were given a Fiat 500L that is one class down from the Alfa Romeo . Not all of or luggage fitted in the trunk of the Fiat and some ended up in back seat where it was visible from the outside. We had to be extra vigilant with where we parked, which was a major inconvenience. Our luggage would had fitted fine in the Alfa Romeo. BTW, we saw several Alfa Romeo Giuliettas in the Europcar lot but apparently none was for us. "

" Nice to have a US based rep who was pretty easy to reach. Customer service was excellent. Only issue I had was with GPS. Barely got it in time for my trip and then found it to be only marginally helpful. Most addresses I tried to enter could not be found, and they weren't obscure addresses. Could not even find a way to just enter a city without an address which would have helped. GPS Diction was a challenge and most GPS directions only identified a road name whereas signs in Italy rarely mentioned a road name, indicating only the road number e.g. SP3. If I had the GPS earlier I may have had time to better understand its limitations, and plan around them. Its use was definitely frustrating at times and led to some wasted time. "

I did pick it up and immediately noticed a wrench indicator in dashboard which I believe indicates required maintenance at 30,000 kilometers, I asked about it a rental site as was told not to worry about it. Didn't have any problems with car but a little disconcerting to always see the maintenance light on. "

" Everything went smoothly with our Milan rental. One minor comment: For our prior rental in England, the Hertz rep took time to make sure we knew how everything in the car worked. Not so in Milan (though I'm sure if I would have asked he would have. I should have for a few minor operation procedures). For our England rental, I misunderstood the cost of the full insurance and questioned the bill after our return. Auto Europe sent my concern on to Hertz and the amount was refunded. Obviously I was pleased and also appreciative of Auto Europe's service re that. Prior rentals from you in Scotland and Switzerland were also completely satisfactory. Auto Europe has been very easy to work with and we will certainly use you again. "

Third, the return site at Termini in Rome has NO signage. We went around and around for almost an hour trying to find the spot. There is no sign outside the parking garage, and even inside, where there are signs for Hertz and other companies, there is nothing for Europcar. We had to ask the parking lot attendant if Europcar was there, and he directed us to the fifth floor. "

Beats me.); high beams; wipers; etc. etc. if this is unrealistic, how about a print out on such matters in each car? Finally, I've rented cars at Malpensa several times. I still have a horrible time finding my way out of the complex toward my desired direction. Blame Italian road signs, but a simple print out would help. Thanx. "

" It was nice to get a complementary upgrade and that is very appreciated. However, it turned out that both headlights were not working. I realized this in the evening of January 23 when I needed to drive from Bormio to Milan. I was lucky to find a mechanic who was able to replace the light bulbs. . I find it unlikely that both headlights were functioning when I took over the car. The mechanic also noted that the lights were not installed correctly, and in addition that whoever put the previous bulbs in forgot to put in rubber covers which were still laying next to the lights inside the engine compartment. Clearly there were some maintenance issues, and one wonders whether there are other issues relevant to the safety of the cars. "

" I booked a pEugeot 308 and ended up with an Opel Zafia, which was clearly not in a good condition. The state of the tyros was hopeless. We were with two other families who booked lower class and cheaper cars. We booked the cars to travel to the mountains and our Opel struggled to go up certain roads which had a small amount of snow, whereas our friends had no problems at all. The types were in a very bad shape. "
