She said that the car I rented not available (passat) so she should give us a similar car but she give us a choice to have a low level car(1.0) or we have to pay more money to give us a better car like ( passat wagon) about 100 euros. But I refuse that and she said that the problem is from the company website i booked from because they offer cars that not available with them. Then she let us wait for half an hour then she asked me if I will pay more to have upgraded car and I also refused and said to her i want a car or similar to what i paid then she decide to give us the key for corolla wagon which was brand new and in excellent condition "

" Instead of a mid-sized car, I was given a large-sized car. Not knowing the models, I could not tell when I signed the contract. I had trouble manouvering it in parking etc. The counter staff was gone for a long long time to find the car. My guess was that my request was not available and he just gave me whatever was available. He even tried to sell me a bigger station wagon for more money. The staff also used heavy, scared-you sale tactic to sell me roadside assistance which I fell for but had regretted. It added more than 10% to the final bill. "

" Bluffing, unprofessional , deceitful counter staff. I got the top full insurance from auto Europe , yet the counter staff added more than 80 euros for tier and window insurance with out even tell me about it , when I discovered it , they tried to convinced me it is not covered by the insurance provided by Auto Europe , when I referred back to the agreement with auto Europe and show them that tiers and windows are insured , they remove it ! Very deceitful way to deal with a customer. This is not all , when I went to the basement to receive the Mercedes E class , as per my reservation, I discovered that they gave me a BMW X1 !! Which is by far lower grade the E class , I had to go back again to the counter and they told me this is what we have , I told them any reputable and respected company would offer an upgrade not a down grade with out even telling the customer .. then we start the bargaining process , they over Mercedes C class , then Volvo 60 , and I refused till I asked for a Volvo X90 , when I went to the basement, I was expecting a luxurious x90 , but they let me wait for 30 minutes to get me a standard , diesel Volvo , instead of a luxurious Mercedes! In the basement there was a luxurious x90 Volvo for HerTz. I could not imagine this will happen by Hertz and in Germany! "

" It was an easy pick up. The personnel gave us a similar vehicle than what I ordered (at no extra charge) because the one I ordered was on the 4 th floor of the parking garage. Instead of making us wait they gave us a vehicle that was right where we were! They were very nice. Drop off was easy also. I had to fill up washer fluid while we were traveling and I kept the receipt. They took that off the bill and made sure I was charged for appropriate amount of days! Thank you! "

" Drop-off. We returned the car with tank just filled in airport. Men in drop-off area checked the car condition and tank, and told us is everything OK, and he send me receipt by e-mail. But we came to Europcar office ask for receipt, and clerk told us what computer shows tank is not full. We presented her our receipt from the gas station, she was very helpful, told us what this men just check the cars, and never send receipts, he was wrong, and we don't need to pay for gas (again!), and gave us final receipt. But this case made us stressful and unhappy in the last day of our great trip. We like Europcar, we rented from them several times, and never had this problem. "

We then went to the main counter and after two hours and speaking to the manager we were offered an upgrade at no charge. However this was a lot of stress and we lost two hours. " They were very nice but their location is only in terminal 2. The terminal 1 location is closed with just a note to tell you where they are and it is really far away in the other terminal especially if you have luggage. Lufthansa flies into terminal 1, so trekking to terminal 2 which includes needing to take an airtram is hard. The problem is the same in the return. Following the rental car return sign takes you right back under terminal 1 and terminal 2 car return is poorly signed and complicated with the Frankfurt airport construction. So, overall the experience was not the level I would hope for, especially just to save a couple bucks a day. It looks like the other vendors are in both terminal 1 and 2, will use those in future. "

That did not tell us where we had to physically drop off the car. Three of us waited in the car in heavy traffic, while one of us ran in. I was given a location several blocks away. It would have prefered if our reservation gave the exact place to drop off the car. It was kind of a mess. "

" My rental included a "Class Upgrade", initially Avis provided an upgrade from a intermediate car to a compact wagon. It did not feel like an upgrade, however under Avis rules it qualified as an upgrade. I called AutoEurope who contacted the Avis Manager and was provided a true upgrade from the intermediate class to the next higher intermediate class - from a Ford Focus wagon to a VW Tiguan Diesel. "

Although it was noted on the voucher that their desk is at Terminal 2, it did not register with me that this meant a different Terminal than the one I arrived in. It would be helpful if for International arrivals in Terminal 1, if an easily recognizeable warning would be printed on the voucher. Something that cannot be overlooked. "

" I arrived in Frankfurt after a trans-Atlantic flight with a toddler. After I had picked up the keys for the car, I received the child safety seat. I asked for help to install the seat, but was told that I had to do this by myself for liability reasons. If you rent a car with a child seat, I would expect this seat to be installed. It is completely unacceptable to be standing next to a new car with a new seat trying to figure out how to get the thing in the car!!!!! "

" My biggest beef was the absurd winter charge for "special tires" to meet the road conditions. What a bunch of nonsense... I'm a 46 year old man who has owned lots of cars over the years... meaning I've bought lots of tires. There was NOTHING special about the tires on the car I rented; they were standard all-season radials. (I checked them out.) Nevertheless, Avis popped on a pretty large surcharge for these, and to be honest it seemed like a gimmick just to jack up the rental price. I don't like b.s. -- and there's no other way to say it: this was b.s.! "

" The car we received was not adequate for 4 people for suitcases even though we each had only a carry on suitcase. The web info showed room for 4 bags and when we tried to get a larger vehicle they weren't available. It limited our ability to purchase more as we had no place to put it. "

It's hard enough to have your trip delayed yet alone to re-arrange cars, hotels, etc. You helped us out and we appreciate it. I was also extremely happy with the car. The Opel was large and roomy. I also loved the GPS. It was very helpful to my daughter and I. EuropCar was a champ compared to Avis. Very nice, helpful and very fast. I don't think I'll ever rent from Avis again unless I have to. " must have been my first time to use them. It was crazy. All the info I got was wrong and misleading. I'm afraid to use them again. I was charged right away in November for my rental in December. Didn't know that would happen. Wanted to change to a one day rental because of an emergency and had to get back home, but that became a big mess. So glad the finally fixed things, but it took a lot of calls and emails. I guess I should have gone with europcar directly. Learned a lot. "
