Geneva is wedged right in the Swiss-French border, and when traveling from Zurich, you can arrive in Geneva in under 3 hours. From Zurich to Geneva, the most optimal drive is along route A1.
Bern is the capital city of Switzerland, and is located in between Zurich and Geneva. A scenic, 69 km drive from Bern to the tip of the north will take you to Basel. Basel is located along the Rhine River along the borders of France and Germany. The drive from Bern to Basel along routes A2 and A1 takes just over an hour.
Visiting the city of Lausanne is a picturesque experience along Lake Geneva. When it's time for a quieter retreat, head to the quaint city of Winterthur. The distance between Lausanne and Winterthur is just 194 km, and via routes A1 and A12, you can stop in Zurich along the way.
