The IVC terminal consists of two levels and four gates. Air New Zealand flights board or depart via Gate 12 on the top floor or Gates 2 or 3 on the building's ground floor. The final gate (Gate 4) is located on the ground floor and reserved for passengers flying to Stewart Island via Stewart Island Flights.

General Information: Invercargill Airport is a controlled aerodrome located 1 nautical mile (2 km) west of the city centre of Invercargill at the bottom of the South Island of New Zealand. It is the southernmost controlled airport in the Commonwealth. Formed on land reclaimed from the Waihopai/New River Estuary in 1938, the airport was prone to flooding, notably in 1984 when it was inoperable for two months.
