When you visit Florence, there are endless possibilities for exploring. Stroll the historical streets and experience the rich heritage that surrounds the area. The Uffizi Gallery with its treasure trove of Italian Renaissance era works is one of the most visited attractions in the region. Many of the works were donated from the private collection of the prominent Medici family and include paintings from masters such as Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Botticelli, and Leonardo da Vinci. The Florence Central Market is a fantastic place to sample local delights and purchase fine goods and jewelry from talented artisans. Finally no visit to Firenze is complete without a visit to Michelangelo's David. Unveiled in 1510 it was one of the first colossal marble statues to be created and stood in the Piazza della Signoria until 1873 when it was moved to Galleria dell'Accademia. The statue now currently in the plaza is actually a replica but it is still certainly impressive.
