" Had reserved an intermediate car with manual transmission, expecting a Passat that uses diesel fuel. That car was not available, so I was offered an SUV with automatic, that used unleaded fuel. I did NOT want that; I had to pay $15 per day extra for an Audi A4 w/ automatic, that did use diesel. I was very happy with that car, as its fuel efficiency was fabulous and its GPS terrific. But the unavailability of what I expected was a disappointment. "

" Counter agent tried to pressure me into collision insurance by telling me I had no insurance coverage. Didn't explain that she meant collision damage. I had to call AutoEurope to get an agent to explain. The vehicle was smaller than the Passat I asked for, then I got the sales pitch for an upgrade so I could have the size car I rented! "

Mr. Yapan, the station manager, gave us an upgrade as compensation for an unpleasant experience with the drop-off agent who is not an Avis employee, when returning a previous rental. Mike, one of the rental agents, took us to our car in the garage and made sure that everything was in order. Could not have asked for a better service. Will continue to use Avis if possible. "

" The location of the pick-up for my rental was changed because of a holiday in Germany. This resulted in having to pick up the car at an inconvenient location at the main train station. Also, there was an additional fee when picking up a car at the train station. The date of the holiday could have been known by Auto Europe at the time of booking. Information about the required additional fee for the pick up at the train station could have been sent to me with the new voucher number. "
