Canada is not a signing member of the Vienna Convention, nor does it follow the left-hand drive rules of the United Kingdom. Many of the road signs will be identical to road signs found in the United States, with only a few exceptions due to the bilingual writing requirements. Below are some examples of road signs that are unique to Canada.
A priority road sign indicating a full stop that is written in the official languages of Canada: English and French.
A danger sign indicating a turning point for school buses, written in the official languages of Canada.
A restrictive sign indicating no stopping or parking, written in both English and French.
A direction sign indicating the approximate distances to cities located along the route. Distances in Canada are measured in kilometers.
