    Trevor has helped me on the phone twice, recently. Initially he helped us make decisions about the auto portion of our upcoming trip to Spain and then he reserved the car for us. On both occasions he was friendly, but professional, but more importantly, informative, patient and extremely helpful…pretty perfect, in fact. AND, he made it clear that your organization prided itself in running a business that was client centered and full of people just like him. Indeed, we always rent through Auto Europe and have always been pleased with your services. However, I would like to comment that as nice and helpful as your staff is in general, Trevor is, at least in my experience, among the very best…indeed he might be the best.     Our car was comfortable, clean, and in good working order. Pick up worked out well. We ended up with a larger car than we thought we were renting. Kyle and Dexter could not have been more helpful and attentive when we ran into a problem with exchanging the car we had reserved for a smaller model. We decided to keep our original rental and were happy with its performance. Would definitely rent from Auto Europe again in the future.

    Dear Leo I was so impressed with your knowledge, help and support yesterday I decided to take some time to write and say thank you. Not only did you help me sort out the best car for our needs in Andalucia where I will be driving through some unknown roads but you explained in great detail for me what the super cover included. You also pointed out the pages on the voucher to refer to if I am harassed by staff at the car company to purchase additional insurance despite already having purchased the super cover with yourselves. This has happened every time i've hired abroad and i'm sure it will happen this time too. I also enquired if I needed one of the new codes issued by the DVLA that show any points on my licence and which some car hire company's now require before you can take the car. You gave me the website ( which i've used today ) and walked me through the details. You confirmed I can call Auto - Europe with any queries or problems I may have and went through the company promise of no credit card charges or cancellation/amendment charges ( up to 48 hours before dep.), I have booked car hire abroad for around 15 years but can honestly say I have never felt so confident with the broker company or had such great service. For this reason AutoEurope through you will now always be my first choice for car hire on holiday.     Recently I hired a car for 3 weeks from Hertz through and I was served well by your agent Ledi. He strongly advised me to take the maximum "no deductible" insurance which in the end of the day saved me a lot of grief. While coming to the end of my stay in Co. Cork, Ireland, a passing car threw up a stone on the windscreen of my hired car and cracked the screen. Because I had the "Super insurance" I was spared the cost of replacing the front windscreen of that Audi car. Ledi came to mind at the Hertz desk in Cork Airport as I handed back the car.     Dear Mr. Khalidi, I wanted to thank you personally for the exceptional service I received at AutoEurope this year, culminating in a 3-week rental from Zurich (1-23 Aug). I write you specifically not only because of your position, but also because I was astonished (and delighted) to be told upon checking in at Europcar that your office had sent a letter to the rental firm specifically guaranteeing the indemnity of the vehicle. You see, this was a luxury-class vehicle (MB-E Class) and I was taking it to North Italy (as I do every year.) Jarrett, my AutoEurope agent, worked skilfully to negotiate both a good rate and the ability for me to travel (with extra insurance protection purchased by me) within Switzerland and Italy.     I received excellent service from Alfred today. This is my first time reserving with you and it was a very positive experience. He spent quality time explaining the insurance features, without any pressure to upgrade to a higher package. Through dialogue with Alfred, I learned that I would be exposed to the first Euros 1500 of potential damage and for this reason I chose a higher insurance package.     I have had the pleasure of speaking to Xavier in the head office in Portland, USA. Using the toll free number in the documents. We had arrived at Perugia Airport, Italy to collect a car rental. Unfortunately I did not have the same Credit Card that I used to book the original deal online, (same card number etc., but different name ! ) Budget Rental Hire Car refused to honour your voucher. I called the toll free number supplied and Xavier answered. In what could be a very confusing conversation, considering the time difference and possible language difficulties, Xavier dealt with the situation in a manner that was of the utmost calm courteous and helpful as one could expect. He arranged with another company, (Keddy Cars), whilst we were on the line, to enable my wife and I, to continue our visit. It was necessary to rearrange the booking in my wife's name (she had the credit card !), and all was well, it only took 10-12 minutes or so! If I could I would give a LARGE tip to Xavier, award top points to your company. Many thanks for dealing with a situation that could have been so awkward for the start of our holiday. I have used your company previously and will certainly do so in the future.

    I am a travel agent with a small fleet of cars going to a villa in Tuscany next month. I made about 6 bookings six months ago, and have tweaked them all recently, as the participants now know their plans better. Then I needed GPSs and had two clients who found a better car deal elsewhere. Keanna spent about 2 hours on the phone with me, patiently sorting all this out, including a nice price match for the defector. I hope they take it. If they don't, it certainly won't be Keanna's fault. Feel free to promote her any time. She's good and she gets it. Brain power and customer service in the same package are hard to find.     I just wanted you to know how much I have appreciated working with such a great young man in your employ..Sawyer... My traveling companion and I have been planning this European trip for seventeen months, sometimes dealing with a AAA travel agent and other times making our own reservations. The AAA travel agent left a lot to be desired, but Sawyer made all those less than satisfactory experiences tolerable. We was so patient, and helpful even with the changes had to be made with our rental cars when our train connections fell through. He was charming, and knowledgeable and if I asked a question he might not know the answer to, he found out and got back to me. You can't ask for anything more. But for once, this is positive feedback so hopefully this should make for good reading! I've just come off a phone call with your staff member named Brendan, I've just had a 46 minute long phone call and smiled from ear to ear the whole time. What an asset that man is to your business, polite, fantastic sense of humour, very knowledgeable and right down at the customers level. I booked a car online via the Autoeurope site and for some reason it declined and would not go through, so I rung the number expecting some standard unhelpful call centre. Answered the phone was this fantastically upbeat man with endless amounts of enthusiasm and could offer me nothing but so much help and guidance with getting my choice of car right. He knew exactly what I was looking for, how much I wanted to spend and took me through the right process and got me what I wanted. Now, I know that is his job, but he's done a fantastic job at getting me there. I work for Mercedes-Benz UK, and the training I have had for customer service you would not believe. Brendan showed exemplary attitude towards every single part of my enquiry and handled it and left me smiling waving my hands in the air with my card ready to make a purchase.     As someone who works in a service industry, I'm tough on others who don't have a 'customer first' attitude. Auto Europe far exceeds my expectations every time. While traveling in Europe my car had some 'issues'. It was a holiday. Everything was closed. Auto Europe was on the phone with me for over two hours, reaching out for help, making contacts and assisting my husband and me. Supervisors were calling us to check on us and provide update. I cannot praise this company or its staff enough. (And the pricing is great, too). Thank you for what you do....and do so well.

    This is a raving report for Tanner. We gave him our boras objectives of travel from Paris to Geneva to Munich. He is so fast on the computer he was able to answer even cost of gas. He uses great judgment, considered our numbers, integrated items we hadn't considered, answered thoughtfully. His tone calmed me down as I thought we might have to cancel parts of this dream trip.     I would highly recommend renting a vehicle through Auto Europe. I spoke to different individuals on numerous phone calls and I always experienced excellent service. The rental cost was lower than what I expected and there were no hidden fees. Pick-up in Rome at Hertz was a bit slow but we ended up with an upgrade to a BMW. No complaints! We will definitely use Auto Europe again.

    We rented a car in Australia from Auto Europe in June, 2012. We usually get a full-sized, but to save some $$ we selected an intermediate car. We got a very nice, new Holden that had loads of head and leg room. It was a great car to have for an extended stay. The price was fantastic, but if we had bought the insurance that covers loss of use, it would have more than doubled the price. Check with your credit cards and see if any of them offer comprehensive car insurance. That was the only flaw I found with this company,..

    Me and my family rented a car through the Peugeot Open Europe. It was a great deal. I fully recommend this to everyone. At first had my doubts as there is not much info on the webs, but went ahead. The great thing about this is that u get a brand new car directly from Peugeot, the best insurance for the car, unlimited mileage and so on. We got a 3008 fully loaded, had the car for over 40 days and no problem at all. Just got back and wanted to post this so other people can take advantage of this deal. If you are going to rent a car for over 21 MUST get this kind of deal.

    I did one of your Peugeot lease/buybacks in June-July this year (2010). I kept the vehicle for just over three weeks and covered over 3600km from Geneva to Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany and back to Geneva. I also rented one of your Garmin GPS units. The whole process could not have been more efficient and simple. The pickup and dropoff agent (Ismael in Geneva) took a total of less than 5 min for both p/u and dropoff. The car, as well as the process, worked so flawlessly that I plan to do another lease/buyback in October when we return for another trip thru eastern Europe and to babysit for our grandchildren in Geneva.     As usual costumer of Autoeurope, I've rent a car also in Buenos Aires. There was a small misunderstanding with the class and the image of the car. The rent company debit to me a surcharge to have the class we wanted. Back home in Italy with a big surprise Autoeurope accredited my Mastercard for that total amount. It was due, but as the world works today, for me was a big surprise and I have appreciated it very much. I will still suggest to friends this very polite company!     On a recent vacation in the UK we had to cancel (four days in advance) a car reservation we had made with AutoEurope. I want to commend the company for the pleasant and efficient way this was handled when we enquired later about getting a credit refund for the cancelled car. The phone was answered by a real person, who readily found our record, saw what had happened, and assured us that, although there had been a communications glitch in the UK, we would soon see the credit on our credit card statement.     My wife, daughter, husband and his parents recently spent weeks in Ireland and Scotland renting several vehicles. Upon returning home I believed I was being almost double charged for those rentals and filed disputes with our credit card companies. This entailed numerous next day mailings and hours on the phone to rental , rental brokers and card companies. In one call and dealing with Senior Agent "Kevin" he showed me those disputes were unfounded and why. He also found two refunds from the rental agency that slipped past my wife and I and apparently everyone else involved.     The service was fantastic. The whole process went off without a hitch, the car was ready when we arrived and the drop off was completely painless. We had no damage to the vehicle so that may have made things easier on return. I would reccomend this for anyone travelling for an extended period. Our rental car was a lease/ buy back with Puegeot.

    While spending a month teaching singers at the Bel Canto Institute in Florence-- I rented a car thru Auto Europe on two weekends. As it turned out I needed the car only one day per weekend but had been charged for two two-day rentals. (Auto Europe was serviced by Europe Car through their VERY busy Firenze office.) I wrote to Auto Europe to point out the error-- and 15 hours later the problem is resolved. That's impressive-- I look forward to my next Auto Europe rental-- I've done both short and six week rentals/lease with Auto Europe and been very please-- good service and the best prices.

    We recently rented a car from europcar through autoeurope for a portion of our trip to Italy. The pickup in Milan went off without a hitch. The driving around northern Italy was a simple and great way to see the sights. The drop off in Venice was quick and easy. Upon returning to the states I found an extra fuel charge on my credit card - so I'm thinking I should have known it was too good to be true. However, I contacted customer service by E-mail and pointed out that the car hadn't been fueled in Milan and I returned it at the same level (it was noted on the initial paperwork). It took a couple of weeks, but very little hassle, and my card has been credited for the fuel (not cheap in Italy). So in the end - it was too good, but also true! Thank you, Chuck W. - Wisconsin

    I would like to commend Jeroen in the Utrecht office in the Netherlands. His excellent service essentially saved our auto excursion after I forgot to print my voucher. He made an extra effort to locate the voucher so that we could get the car and get on our way to a wonderful drive through the Netherlands and into Luxembourg.     Over the course of several months, I called Auto Europe numerous times to explore options while planning a 3-week vacation in Central Europe (Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, Czech Republic). Every Auto Europe customer service rep I spoke with was friendly and helpful. I worked with Tracie most often; she really went the extra mile to make sure that we ended up with a contract that suited us. I really liked the 24/7 availability of Auto Europe reps.     I was mistakenly charged on my credit card for an incident that should have been covered under my rental contract. I contacted customer service and was asked to scan and send my paperwork, which I did. The issue was not only resolved in a matter of days (which amazed me), but also with a very high level of professionalism. I realize that mistakes can happen with anything and these days it seems most customer service departments are not very friendly or willing to help resolve issues. But, AutoEurope's customer service department has given me new faith that great customer service does still exist!     I contacted Auto-Europe via its website to book a car while on a trip recently to Spain. A problem with my own email service, however, resulted in miscommunication about the requested car. Without going into tedious detail, the result was that due to no fault of Auto-Europe and of myself, I was charged for a car I did not use. After explaining the situation to Auto-Europe, one of their staff, Libby, was able to provide a refund. She was very courteous, efficient and sweet. No hassle at all. Each car hire worked exactly as planned, the vehicles were all first-rate and in excellent condition, all diesel, as requested,and pickup and drop-off were handled quickly and efficiently. We especially appreciated that we could pick up the vehicle at Milan's Malpensa Airport and drop it off two weeks later at Linate, with no extra fees.     We were in Dublin, Ireland the morning of 18 March 2007 and were taken to the high speed ferry for our trip to Holyhead. We were suppose to notify your company by telephone. The ferry was canceled, so our cab driver immediately took us to the other ferry dock and they placed us on a regular ferry at the last minute. We were unable to contact you.     Just a quick note to express my pleasure with my recent car rental in Spain thru you with Europcar from Santiago APO to Barcelona APO, 9/20/06 to 10/2/06. Pickup was fast, pleasant and no problem to decline CDW as I did. Better yet, when I expressed some doubt about the power of our gasoline-driven Compact(Renaut Megane or sim.) for fully laden mountain driving, they gave me a standard class, six-speed Toyota Avensis Turbodiesel at no extra charge, a fast and larger car with great pulling power.     What a great transaction! We requested an economy car 3 months in advance for pick up in L'Aquila, Abruzzo, Italia. Just before leaving the US, we called to re-confirm and received assurance that our car would be waiting. The service we received in L'Aquila from Europcar was outstanding.     i have rented cars through auto europe on several occasions, and have always had good service, but my most recent experience was absolutely the best. as i was going to be in europe for 6 weeks, i thought i would try the peugeot buy back service because it would allow me entry into hungary without any problems, as well as save money on italy rentals which are very expensive due to high country accident rates. upon signing up, i received a very thorough document package w/clear & easy instructions, mailing procedures, and legal documents, as well as a very handy leather zippered case with all the important phone numbers i would need, maps and clear directions as to where, when and how to pick up, and drop off my car. upon arrival at malpensa airport in milano, all i had to do was make one phone call, and within a very short period of time i was met by a woman delivering my brand new, peugeot diesel car - she was very helpful & personable & i was off on my trip within minutes. the car was absolutely fantastic, got great mileage, suffered through much rough driving on the winding dirt roads through the hills of tuscany, and i never ever had any problems. in fact, i loved the car so much, i wish i could buy it, but think that peugeot does not currently sell in the u.s. upon my departure, i had clear instructions as to where to go for drop off at malpensa, the staff there was very kind & helpful, and all i had to do was sign a few papers and i was done. additionally, the drop off location was so convenient - just a short walk to the airport entrance, and to my flight gate. i would do the peugeot buy back service again in a heart beat - it was so very easy, and what a great car! and definitely saved money over what i would have spent renting for the same period of time. thanks auto europe - you have a greatful and loyal customer in me.

I booked a car rental for Italy, but I had given the incorrect dates; I received my confermation voucher, and as I read it, I noticed the incorrect days. Note that I did not read the voucher and noticed the incorrect dates till the next day; at that point I panicked and contacted customer support; within two minutes, my rate and date was corrected and changed.     Recently my wife and I visited Italy for the third time in five years. I have always rented our autos from AutoEurope. The transactions had been good but uneventful.

    This time I am very pleased that I used AutoEurope because the trip was not routine and AutoEurope really helped bail us out. We had formulated a travel plan and reserved a car for three weeks. It seemed like a good plan, but circumstances changed and after taking the car, we were only able to use it for one week. We had to not only turn it in early, but also at an unplanned location. Much to my liking, when I returned home to the USA I found that AutoEurope was refunding a substantial amount of the fees I had paid in advance, even though the early return of the car had not been expected and was necessarily done with little notice.

    You can be sure that the next time I need a rental car it will come from AutoEurope. This type of courtesy and understanding is invaluable to a traveler, as circumstances can change quickly when one is overseas and dealing with unexpected events.

I arrived at the Split, Croatia airport earlier than expected and the agent's reply was "no problem" the car is ready.     In response to your request, this is to advise you that the Peugeot Lease which I used for seven weeks in France was absolutely superb. It was far more beneficial to me in as much as the insurance was continuous and without renewal. The Peugeot dealer in Paris could not have been more accommodating, and if I have occasion to travel in Europe, I will most assuredly seek this same arrangement. Another excellent feature is that there are almost as many Peugeot dealerships as there are villages in France. So if service was needed, it would be easily obtained.

    This is the best rental experience we've ever had. The booking service is extremely flexible. Our flight to Rome was delayed by 12 hours so we had to change our itinerary in the last minute, including pickup time and drop off location. All of these were done without a glitch at no extra charge. By the time we arrived at the Rome Fiumicino Airport at 2 o'clock in the morning on Sept 2nd, the whole airport was almost empty. The rental office hour is 7am-11pm. Due to the time zone difference, we didn't manage to get hold of the airport rental office so we were prepared to stay at the airport overnight. But to our delight, a rental representative named Stefano was there waiting for us, all alone by himeself, and gave us a free upgrade (please pass our sincere, heartfelt thanks to him)! A few days later, due to various reasons, we wanted to return the car earlier at a difference location in Italy. Again, it was handled graciously without any extra charge. After this pleasant experience, Auto Europe will be our first rental car choice in Europe.

A lot of web sites are really, really bad from a usability perspective. In fact I tried one other car rental web site and was immediately confused. (The refinement that they had missed was that they try to get you to specify the exact pickup/dropoff locations immediately. You've cleaned this up and put it off until later when it's easier to digest. The user just has to pick the city to start off.) In any case your car rental pages were well thought out and simple to use. Additionally your phone support is great. I had a slightly tricky situation with a really early drop off time.     This is the best experience I have had with a rental car company and at the lowest price that I could find for my trip to Ireland. I wanted the option of renting my own car besides the one that my family rented just in case one of the five of us needed to use it.     My wife and I just completed our first trip to Italy. Rented a car through your service. Picked up in Florence, so we could drive through the beautiful Tuscan countryside.

    Outstanding service, start to finish. Very easy to use Internet reservation service. E-mails (do I need special insurance?, do I need a special drivers permit?, blah, blah, blah) were answered INSTANTANEOUSLY. Man, did I love that. It made the difference between renting from you and renting from Hertz, who I rent from in the US. We received outstanding service in Italy.

    If you have any TALL U.S. drivers who inquire about rentals, steer them toward the Mercedes C220. I am 6 foot 10, and only drive automatic, like most dumb Americans, so I thought I would have only a 10-20% chance of finding a car I would fit into, and that I could drive.

    The C220 has a power seat, tilt wheel and geek-friendly dash, which allowed me to not only fit, but fit very comfortably. And because it rents as an INTERMEDIATE car, it didn't break my bank.

    This is not a small point, by any means. I fit in very few cars, even in the U.S. I can drive even fewer. So please keep this in mind when other folks like me write to you. You'll win a few more customers, because there's a great deal of anxiety involved in renting a car when you're my height.

    We used Auto Europe for the first time in September '01 for a rental in Madrid. The rate beat anything else we found and the service was excellent. The only glitch was that the rental company in Madrid presented a bill in pesetas, which we verified as correct, then converted the charge to dollars using an inflated exchange rate. The result is that we ended up paying $20 more than the rate quoted by Auto Europe. A brief email to Auto Europe resulted in a prompt refund to our credit card. Wow! That's great customer service. We will definitely use Auto Europe again.

    Dear Sir,

    I understand you are the President and CEO of Autoeurope, and so would like to express my thanks to you for the good job your staff has again done in getting me the auto I need for our trip to Prague.

    In particular, I wish to highlight the efforts of your Confirmation Supervisor, Spencer, who accomplished what appeared to be impossible. I had been told that Avis was now unable to confirm my request for a 7 passenger mini-van for our trip beginning May 18, apparently because of a shortage of this type of vehicle in Europe. Since I had rented from your company in the past, I am well aware that I absolutely do not want the alternative vans such as the Ford Metro/ Transit or the MB Vito, as I had them forced upon me in the past and to me they are just delivery trucks with windows.

    Thus I was put in touch with Spencer who worked his magic and indeed received a confirmation with Avis for the Ford Galaxy or similar VW mini-van. Since we will be in the vehicle for 11 days, this assurance for the smaller van is just what we needed. He faxed me my confirmation, AV CNF# and offered any future assistance if needed when we arrive in Prague.

    Now, that's the kind of action I need, and which will keep me coming back to Autoeurope. I will also make sure my friends are aware of this high level of service.

    In closing, I would really appreciate if you would personally thank Spencer for a great job well done.

    Ethan, I have just returned from my trip to France and want to report on a most successful trip and especially the car rental. The car was, indeed, waiting on New Year's Day. It was a great, new 4DR Peugeot. My insecurities about driving the automatic shift were quickly dispelled and I enjoyed the experience (AND, of course, saved money). I was a bit surprised when I picked up that car that the gentleman collected only the deposit. He said the rest was to be paid when I returned the vehicle. However, when I returned the car, the desk was closed and one of the other agents at a nearby agency showed me (and another person) the drop slot for the key and paperwork. I was a bit uneasy doing this, but hope that they will simply charge the rest of the rental and fees to the credit card number on file. He collected my voucher form when I checked in. The Nimes airport is VERY TINY which is a nice advantage in some ways, but does lead to unusual experiences. Again, thank you for your excellent cooperation and assistance. I will be returning to France in April, if not sooner. Also, I would like to know about longer term lease rentals, say for up to a month and how the prices would be for that extended period. Jo Anne

Following my recommendation, my family, friends and colleagues have been renting cars from them for many years now, and not only has their service always been outstanding, but they actually went far and beyond the call of duty when they assisted me with a personal customs problem I faced in Spain in 1997 due to custom agent's snafu from a previous rental in Germany. Solving it required much maneuvering and coordination between the local rental agency in Spain, the original rental agency in Germany, their headquarters in England and Auto Europe in Maine, a task that proved impossible for us to tackle. Much to our delight, a well placed call to your president and his assistant was all we needed to do before they took over everything and solved the customs matter -not related to Auto Europe, I might add- judiciously and expeditiously, and soon enough, we were off to a hassle-free month vacation in Europe. I always wanted to give them credit for what they did. Discovering this guestbook on their website today, as I am planning another trip for this March allows me to finally do that, and to attest to the truthfulness of their commitment to customer service.     Our Response: For the rates listed on our website, basic insurance does not include the Value Added Tax, but does include third-person liability, fire insurance as well as unlimited mileage. Included in the inclusive rate is the Value Added Tax, third-person liability, fire insurance, unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver as well as theft protection. Usually most gold or platinum credit cards will cover the Collision Damage Waiver, although there are a few exceptions. For example, when renting in Italy it is mandatory to take full insurance. Also when renting in Ireland, only a gold or platinum Master Card will cover the Collision Damage Waiver. Please feel free to call our office with any further questions.

    Recently, I booked a car for Italy through Rentals in italy, which in turn used your agency. Upon arrival in Milan (Malpensa Airport) they were not only out of the Alfa 156, but all cars in that level as well. After refusing both a 9 passenger can and a subcompact wagon, I had them call your office. All was handled instantly and I left in a few minutes with an Alfa Romeo 166 (much to the clerk's dismay). As promised, I received a credit for the upcharge on my Visa card. Being my first experience with your company (I've always dealt with Maggiore in the past) I must say I'm very pleased.     We rented a car through you for our trip from Italy to France, Oct. 5 through 12. I want to thank you personally for everything. The Mercedes wagon was a surprise but worked out just fine. The car was in excellent condition, and the personnel at the rental agency in Venice most helpful. Not only did the car fit our needs on the roads in Europe but a couple of weeks after we returned to the States we received by mail a roll of film that we had left in the car by mistake. This was really appreciated because it had pictures we had taken in France that I thought had not come out.     We rented a car at your Milan (Malpensa Airport) location on 10/1 and I would like to let you know about our experience.

    The rental process went smoothly and we went on our way to our hotel in downtown Milan. Upon check-in we discovered that my wife inadvertently left a folio which contained our passports, cruise tickets and airline tickets on a seat in the terminal area about 30 feet from your booth. We felt the liklehood of recovering the folio was slim, but since it was early in the morning and the airport was empty, we thought it was worth driving back to the airport on the chance that it fell into the hands of an honest person who turned it over to the police.

    As we entered through the sliding glass doors I noticed both of the people in your booth waiving at us frantically. I instantly knew that all was well and our trip was saved. Our folio was returned intact and we were given a bottle of wine and a friendly "arrividercci". Words cannot express how grateful we are to the wonderful people at your Milan location. We use Auto Europe every time we go to Europe and have never had a bad experience. After this trip, you know you have our business!

We think you should know that everything AutoEurope did was handled in an excellent manner. You were easy and helpful to communicate with by phone in the US, to make the reservation. Your materials were understandable. (We appreciated the upgrade due to early reservations.) The people at Les Invalides in Paris were courteous and helpful with the picking-up of the car, as were the people at CDG at the turning-in. And the auto itself was perfect.

    We have used AutoEurope many times over the past 30 years. But last year we tried one of your competitors. We can tell you that you are way better! Henceforth we shall stick with you.

    Congratulations on the greatest Rental web site on the net. It's precise,detailed and the rates you quote are simply unobtainable renting in Europe. Over the last 10 years I've rented cars through at least 15 times and not once was the service less than excellent. I've used you a couple times in my trips to Germany, and have received EXCELLENT rates/cars, and when I had to cut a trip short, there were no questions asked, and my refund was sent out right away!!     Dear Sir or Madame,

    Yesterday, I was paging through your web site in preparation for a return trip to Germany in the fall. I had used your service back in the Fall of '98 and was pleased with the transaction. That was until I took a closer look at my previous reservation. Back in the fall of '98 I made a reservation for a compact car. I paid the reservation in full. Maybe a week later, after talking with my fiance, we decided to upgrade to a midsize car due to the fact we'd be doing quite a bit of driving in Germany. Autoeurope billed me the difference and sent me confirmation of the upgrade. When I arrived in Koblenz, Germany the fine staff @ the rental place directed me to my VW Golf. In fact it looked exactly like the one shown on your web page. I didn't even think about the classification of the car. Excited about our arrival, we just completed the paperwork and were off on our way. The car was fine and we fully enjoyed the rental car.

    Yesterday I was back on your site only to see the vehicle we were given was not a midsize vehicle. It in fact was a compact vehicle. I quickly realized I had been scammed. I had paid the full price of a midsize, but was given a compact. No one ever advised me that there would be a change to my reservation, which I thought was guaranteed. No one ever reimbursed me the difference. I guess it was water under the bridge as far as Autoeurope was concerned. As I'm sure you can understand I'm quite upset. Not that the compact was totally uncomfortable, but it certainly wasn't "roomy." I'm 6'3", 220lbs and wanted a midsize for that reason. I'm sure the long hours spent driving around Germany would have been a little more comfortable in the midsize that I paid for.

    Now I have to make a decision on whether or not to use your service again. Let's just say I'm less than comfortable with using your company. Why should I use your company again? Why shouldn't I tell everyone that I know about how I was deceived and advise them not to use your service? In my profession I constantly refer people to specific companies and services. In light of my findings, Autoeurope would not make my list. Well, at least not the good one! Can you offer an explanation and solution?

    I am very disappointed in your company. Our travel agency highly recommended you for our trip to Europe. We specifically requested a vehicle that would handle our luggage and were rewarded with a special price on a Mercedes 230E at $2646.34 Cdn$ at an exchange of 1 to 1 on Swiss Francs. We went to a Mercedes dealer to view the trunk and then purchased luggage to fit. When we arrived in Switzerland we were told that there were no Mercedes at all even though we had prepaid. The best we could get was an Audi A6(which is not a similar model). The invoice when printed indicated the charge should be 1500 CHF or based on the original exchange 1500 Cdn$.We could not fit all our luggage in the trunk nor was the performance or cleanliness of the vehicle what we were anticipating. I have had our travel agency contact this company while we were in Europe to get us the Mercedes and they were told that they were all rented out. All we have received is a $65.00 Cdn credit for the inconvenience. I beleive that we should be receiving a credit of $1146.34 Cdn which is the difference between what we were charged and the invoice generated by the Budget counter in Zurich.
