Domestic and International One Way Rental Information
Any time you return a rental car to a location other than the place it was picked up, you may be subjected to a one way fee. You will always pay a one way fee if the two locations are in different countries. Within the same country fees do exist, although they are not as common. One way fees are based on many factors; Rental car fleets will try to have consistent numbers, so if a car needs to be driven back to its original location before it can be rented again that is factored in along with the length of the rental, the kind of car, and the destination. If you would like to book a one way rental, it may be best to call Auto Europe as our website will not reflect one way fee pricing. Contact us today to book your next car, or if you have any questions at 1.888.223.5555.

A rental car can be a great way to see more of Europe, and a well informed traveler will usually have a better experience. One thing that renters should be aware of is that there may be restrictions if you plan taking your rental car into Italy, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, or anywhere east of these countries. Auto Europe can generally arrange the travel east for most rentals, so be sure to let us know if it is something you plan on doing.
If you would like to pick up your rental car in one location and return it to another, there may be what is known as a one way fee. One way fees are always found if the locations are in different countries, for example, if you want to take a rental car from Paris, France to Munich, Germany, there will always be a one way fee with every supplier. It varies if the cities are in the same country. For example, going from Paris to Nice there may not be a fee, but it depends on your supplier. The amount of the one way fees are based on several factors, ranging from distance, to car size. Always check with Auto Europe if you are doing a one way rental.
