Nestled into an endless sea of palatial green countryside - so characteristic of the Emerald Isle - rests Ireland's famed Russborough House, home to Sir Alfred Beit's impressive art collection, featuring one of a kind works by Goya, Vermeer, and Gainsborough among others.
Built between 1741 and 1755 in the Neo-Palladian style of architecture, the Russborough House is open to the public from 10am to 5pm for guided tours, and also provides accommodations, fine dining, and catered events year-round.
Beginning Saturday, November 8th (there's an encore on Saturday, November 15th if you can't make the first event), the Russborough House will be hosting a Candlelight Evening event, billed as "one of the most spectacular, romantic evenings in our calendar year." And what a night it will be - award-winning actress and soprano vocalist Philomena Breslin will be performing live in this intimate setting, from 8pm-10pm.
The Voice of a National Treasure, and the Gift of Song
Discovered at an Irish talent contest at the age of ten, where she took first place with her gifted vocals, Philomena Breslin was destined to charm the world with song from a young age. Philomena went on to study vocal and operatic studies at Cardiff's College of Music and Art, The Royal Irish Academy of Music, Westland Row, and the National University of Ireland Maynooth, where she voraciously honed her craft, marking the beginning of her transformation into the Irish national treasure she is today.
After university, Philomena Breslin continued to follow her passion for song, headlining as a soloist with the Knappogue Castle Singers, starring in a self-produced cabaret performance, teaching in various Irish music academies, all culminating into the release of her debut album, My Wild Irish Rose - a collection of classic Irish melodies. The album was praised by critics, news outlets, and Irish radio personalities, crediting her haunting, ethereal voice and her ability to tap into, and display, a deeply heartfelt emotional connection with every song she performs. Ireland's East Coast Radio left a glowing review, stating, "The quality of her voice can only be described as close to a finely tuned violin."
Philomena's widely successful album and stylistically diverse performances, have led her to many prestigious venues throughout Ireland, including The National Concert Hall, RTE, and The Gaiety Theater, among others. Philomena Breslin's immaculate performance resume, and timeless presence as a vocal virtuoso, further solidifies her place as not only a national treasure, but as an international treasure - serving the world with the gift of song.
Music and Culinary Delight at Ireland's Premier Palladian Mansion
As autumn settles in and the leaves complete their fall transformation, Ireland's viridian hills become rich with a vibrant spectrum of vermilion and golden hues, ushering in the seasonal reverence of family and togetherness. In honor of autumn's pervasive glowing energy, the Russborough House is hosting two separate - yet equally inspiring - Candlelight Evenings, providing guests with a multi-sensory experience of culinary delight, and artistic exploration, set to the enchanting melodies of Ireland's own, critically acclaimed soprano vocalist, Philomena Breslin.
Visitors attending the Russborough House Candlelight Evening will be treated to a three-course gourmet dinner, and have free reign to leisurely explore the mansion's many art galleries and tea rooms, basking in the intimate afterglow of flickering candlelight while Philomena Breslin's celestial vocal performance cascades through the halls from the music room.
Tickets are selling out quickly, and the Russborough House recommends purchasing as early as possible, so as not to miss out on this wonderful evening of candlelight, music, and memories.
