Jamaica Boosts Tourism

Portia Simpson Miller, Jamaica's prime minister, met with United Nations World Tourism Organization's secretary general Taleb Rifai, who agreed that boosting the country's tourism industry is integral to job creation and economic sustainability. Also present at the meeting was David Scowsill, the president of the World Travel and Tourism Council. Both men sang Miller's praises during the 2012 Caribbean Tourism Summit.

This is good news for employment seekers in Jamaica. The tourism industry already provides more than 300,000 jobs on the island, which draws in thousands of visitors annually with its gorgeous beaches, delectable Caribbean fare, and historical landmarks.
