Germany has long been a top destination for motorsports enthusiasts, thanks to unrestricted speed limits on certain Autobahns and the famous Nürburgring, which boasts a Grand Prix race track, called the GP-Strecke, and the notorious Nordschleife, the originally 14-mile long loop known as "The Green Hell." The shortened Nordschleife (literally: "North Loop") is still formidable, and the track is open to the public on certain days. In fact, anyone with a road-legal vehicle can purchase a general ticket and experience the "Green Hell" for himself, and renting a car in Germany is the way to go if you're visiting from another country. If you're looking for a more authentic experience and a bit more adrenaline, you can even rent a sports car at the track to hug the road along the famous routes.
The following Nürburgring events in April and May 2015 are well worth attending, for both spectators and keen drivers.
