It is only natural for a city as old as Athens, Greece, to be home to more than a few historic cultural institutions. Among them is the National Gallery and Alexandros Soutzos Museum, which travelers can visit with a car rental in Athens.

The origins of the National Gallery date back to 1878, when a total of 117 works were exhibited at the University of Athens. In 1900, an official museum was established, and the institution’s collection has grown ever since.

Today, travelers can take their car rental in Greece to see the institution’s collection of Greek and European works, which are housed in two separate buildings. Overall, visitors will be able to see important artistic pieces that were created between the 14th and 20th centuries.
