Travelers may have never heard of Kelly Tarlton, but after they take their car rental in Auckland, New Zealand, to the Kiwi explorer’s Underwater World and Antarctic Encounter they will be Tarlton experts.

As a diver and adventurer, Tarlton has met many of the creatures that inhabit New Zealand’s waters. On a visit to Underwater World, travelers can see everything Tarlton has without having to change into a wetsuit.

Underwater World features a variety of local marine life, from tiny tropical fish and stingrays to sea turtles and different shark species. Meanwhile, Antarctic Encounter brings visitors close to the only sub-Antarctic penguins in New Zealand.

Those who feel they have the same adventurous spirit as Tarlton will want to step out of their car rental in New Zealand and into a shark cage for one of the attraction’s animal encounters. Nothing gets the adrenaline going like being partially submerged in a tank filled with some of the ocean’s deadliest predators.

Meanwhile, qualified divers can take their experience at Underwater World to new depths of excitement by participating in a shark dive. There is no cage to hide behind during this two and a half hour dip in the water, which features sharks, stingrays and other New Zealand sea life.
