The city of Nice has a reputation for being one of the most scenic parts of France. From its sandy beaches to its dense forests, it is easy to see why the city and its natural sites have helped it gain the name "Nice la Belle," or "Nice the Beautiful." While visiting, travelers will want to take their car rental in France to some of its man-made attractions as well.

Nice’s Promenade des Anglais is one of the city’s most popular sites, but visitors need to be careful not to become too distracted by its beautiful beaches or they will miss out on some great architecture.

For instance, Nice is home to the St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral, which also happens to be one of France’s national monuments. Tsar Nicholas II of Russia funded the structure’s construction, and it actually shares a few similarities to the types of buildings one might find in the former monarch's homeland, including onion-shaped domes.

Another attraction travelers should take their car rental in Nice to is the Hotel Negresco, which has been a part of the city’s landscape since it was constructed in 1912. This pink-domed building sits on the Promenade des Anglais and is now considered to be a National Historic Building.
