Travelers looking to escape the cold weather of the winter season should consider booking a car rental in Johannesburg. The South African summer has just begun, and with the sun and warmth comes music.

After spending a day in the sun, take a break and ease into the night with an eclectic mix of musical styles. The Old Mutual Encounters Concerts is a music series that takes place in the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens and Emmarentia Dam on Saturday afternoons.

Each event features two popular music artists from different genres, such as jazz, folk, Afro pop, hip-hop, rock and blues, collaborating for a unique performance. Audience members can lie in the grass and revel in the South African flora surrounding them while they listen to the melodies of the Encounters.

The concerts take place once a month in Gauteng in December and January, and run from noon to 6 pm.
