Old monastery now a hotel in Prague

A Prague hotel gives guests a taste of the city's culture

May 20, 2010
Prague is one of the most unique cities in Europe, if not the world, and as such the city is prepared to offer world-class amenities to those with a car rental in the Czech Republic.

One of the city's most interesting hotels is The Augustine, which is located in an ancient monastery in the Malá Strana district. Many historic and architectural concerns delayed the opening of the hotel but it was worth the wait according to concierge.com, which placed the hotel on its 2010 Hot List.

Monastic cells have been converted into guest rooms but they are far from austere. The rooms are draped in luxurious fabrics and feature elements of local design.

The Augustine is much more than a place to rest one's head. The Augustinians still retain ownership of the property and guests can learn about the historic order by taking a tour of their library, monastery and chapel with one of the monks who still live in their quarters on the premises.

There are many other things for those with a car rental in Prague to do but when staying in such a wonderful hotel it will surely be difficult to leave.
