Here's what we got from Vero 1-a pleasant personal welcome at Split airport 2-the car size we reserved 3-car ran well Here's what we didn't get 1-a car with clean windows, ours had obviously been used by smokers 2-no damage, ours had multiple scratches and some staining on the paint which were already noted on the paperwork 2-a full tank of gas, ours had less than 1/4 tank I'm not complaining about Vero. I'm just letting you know that some renters might expect something different; it was actually a relief not to have to worry about getting the car scratched esp since we took ferries. Only other concern is there was no one at the airport for drop-off so it could be noted that we hadn't caused anymore damage, but we did leave early.

No one was at the office when we arrived so we had to call them. They arrived 30 minutes later. This was at 2pm on a weekday. From that point on they were good to work with.

They were very good to work with and attentive to some issues we had. The problems were with UniRent. It all worked out but nerve wracking to say the least.

When we got to the rental office there was no one there and we had to wait about 45 minutes for someone to show up. On the return end at the Dubrovnik airport the office did not open until 7 am and our flight left at 7:30. We had no instructions as to what to do. We just left the car and put the keys and contract materials in the mailbox. I haven't heard that this was a problem, yet.

While the experience in Split was fine, the employee at the ORYX Rijeka office the night of September 20th offered by far the BEST customer service I have ever received. He should be rewarded for his efforts - he stayed past the closing time to help navigate us to the car rental station and gave us a ride to our hotel in the pouring rain. His helpfulness alone would make me recommend ORYX to anyone that asked.

never rec'd initial confirmation, i had to call, was told my CC was on hold. had i not made the call could have been trouble. girl was very helpful on the phone. didn't receive travel documents/receipt until i had already left the county, this presented a problem when we arrived at ORYX without documents. paperwork should have been sent out earlier than a week before.

only one clerk for check in. waited well over 45 minutes to get car. however clerk was very accommodating when we had no papers with us, even though our name was on her list. allowed us to use computer and find confirmation and print out paper work. drove 4 hours, nice car, didn't use hardly any gas, filled up the tank when we started. they should have credited us for the 1/2 tank MORE of gas we left them with!

The people at the downtown Split office were helpful and knowledgeable. We also purchased the mobile internet addition that really helped us throughout our vacation. The vehicle was in terrific condition and very nice to drive. It also took us the entire vacation to use one tank of diesel.
