Rimini has witnessed many events in its long history and many of the most notable occurred in the time of the Romans. After crossing the Rubicon, Julius Caesar made his legendary appeal to his legions at the Forum of Rimini and the Arco d'Augusto and Ponte Tiberio attest to the esteem in which these emperors held the town. Should you decide to explore other parts of the Italian peninsula during your stay, it is unlikely you will need the force of legions, a rental car should do nicely. Rimini has all the usual attractions of a seaside resort and more beside. There are street markets to peruse and walking paths along the beach and through town. Bicycle paths lure the visitor to explore lush green parks. The villages in the valleys outside of town hold artistic and cultural delights so rent a car and go exploring.
