    • We used the GPS to our advantage everywhere we went. The car was great, the only problem was that we were not used to the side mirror being "Objects are closer than they appear" and it was hard to dr ... ive on the autobahn with cars all of a sudden appearing on the left side, but we got the car back easily found the airport check in place, the attendent helped us program the GPS for English, It is essential for getting through Germany, and the cities and even obscure country towns. Having the pick up place in the outskirts of the city of Passau made it harder to get to but easier to leave for a freeway which is most important. Loved the car.

    Car Rental in Passau, Germany

Passau has gone through many changes over the centuries. Originally a Celtic settlement, it was converted to a Roman camp before becoming the seat for the Prince Bishops of the Roman Empire. Settled on the mountain of Saint Georgburg, the fortress of Veste Overhaus has stood watch over the city for centuries. These days it has been renovated to hold cultural and dining establishments for tourists. Below, the confluence of the Danube, the Liz and the Inn rivers give the city its second name as the "City of three Rivers". The Gothic town hall displays the paintings that recount Passau of the past. Visit the Niedernburg convent where, according to legend, the first Hungarian Queen, Gisela, was placed in the tomb. The second largest organ in the world calls the St. Stephen's Cathedral home (The first is in Los Angeles).
