Events for 2008International Ice Climbing Festival
Avid climbing fans head to the Alpine resort of Kandersteg as thrill seekers take the challenge of climbing to the top of the magnificent ice falls. Engadin Snow attracts pro snowboarders and skiers from all over the world as they compete on the north face of Corvatsch Mountain in Graubünden in a series of Alpine skiing and boarding events. Cartier Polo World Cup on Snow
Over 20,000 spectators, photographer, journalists and camera teams from all around the world go to St. Moritz for the annual Cartier Polo World Cup on Snow. The competition has been running since 1985 as some of the best polo players test their skills on the snow and ice. Bobrun-Skating

Racing greyhounds do more then race on the track, they also race on the frozen St. Moritz Lake for a unique event, the Gold Rush Dog Races on Ice. It is a 500 meter race and features 14 races. Basel Carnival
The carnival is kicked off with the city's electricity being turned off at 4am and a parade of people carrying torches through the streets in a ceremony that launches a 3 day celebration.
