Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival This festival is a celebration of both the great composer, Ludwig van Beethoven, and also the wealth of classical music that has come to be, in the 200 years since his heyday. The event features numerous concerts, exhibitions and conferences around venues throughout Warsaw.
Cracovia Marathon One of the most exciting athletic events in Poland, the Cracovia Marathon entices thousands of runners to compete through the streets of Krakow. The 26 mile race begins and ends in beautiful Blonia grasslands. Entrants compete at this event for ten cash prizes, in addition to recognition and fame.
Krakow Juwenalia The local scholars literally take over the city of Krakow, during the annual Krakow Juwenalia. This celebration of fun rules the streets with parades, all night parties, and plenty of musical merriment. The festival, which dates back to the medieval era, commences when the Mayor hands the keys of the city over to the fancily dressed students of the nation. You'll be sure to find plenty of heavy drinking throughout this event, as the local bars and dance clubs stay open until the wee hours of the morning.
Sense of Humour Festival Known to the locals of Gdansk as the Festiwal Dobrego Humoru, this event celebrates love of laughter with a series of competitions, shows, and street performances. Smiles are in abundance around every corner as the best Polish comedy series on television are enjoyed throughout town. Museums will be running special exhibitions featuring satirical advertisements, caricatures, and illustrations throughout the run of the festival. |
