Tromsø is home to Norway's largest international film festival and each year over 30,000 people flock to the city for this event. Due to the timing of this festival and the northerly location of Tromsø, there is a good chance that you will see the Northern Lights as a back drop for this international film festival. Polarjazz

Each year the entire country of Norway goes into celebration mode, as Norwegian National Day is bigger to the locals then Christmas or Easter.
