Events for 2010
City-Pier-City Loop This annual event is an international half marathon that attracts close to 18,000 participants each year. It is a very fast, flat course that is traffic free that starts at city centre that goes to the pier at the coastal resort of Scheveningen and loops back to the starting point in Den Haag.
Feest Brielle The town of Brielle dresses in 16th century regalia to commemorate the revolt against Spanish rule, thanks to the help of the Watergeuzen pirates. Festivities are held in the Old Town center. After the battle is reenacted the locals and visitors alike continue the celebration long into the night.
Queen's Day This annual celebration is held in honor of the previous Queen's birthday; her daughter and heir now officially recognizes this date as her own birthday, continuing the tradition. Come party with the nations best for almost two full days of events; just make sure to come fully dressed in orange, its the color theme of the festival!
Amsterdam Roots Festival The Amsterdam Roots Festival welcomes a variety of international performers to venues throughout the city. A couple of these, including the Oosterpark, are outdoor settings, which provide an ideal environment to listen to the mellow tunes.
