Irish Grand National Participants as young as five years old compete in specialized events during one of Ireland’s oldest horse races, the annual Irish Grand National. Kicking off the event is a parade FULL of music, dancing, and other lively entertainment. Best part? There’s even a café to watch the races from. Indulge in fine Irish tradition by cheering on your favorite horse, and sip on some delicious local ales.
Dublin City Soul Festival Picturesque Dublin hosts one of the region’s greatest celebrations during May, when a citywide festival that incorporates all things soul with four musical days of activities. This event hosts numerous deep rooted southern traditions, such as soul-inspired comedy acts, funky DJs mixing the greatest Blues hits, and a vast array of “Soul Food” restaurants with delicious fried delicacies. The festival wraps up on Sunday with a slew of world renowned musical performances, and a relaxing picnic lunch, set in the beautiful Merrion Square Park. This event is certainly a fun time for all ages!
Street Performance World Championships This competition takes place in Dublin every year, and is a real pleasure to watch! The contestants are real life street performers who juggle, sing, dance, act and everything else you could imagine, in order to make their living. There will be no shortage of sword swallowers, unicyclists, or mimes at this funfair!
