The best amateur sailors in Europe gather every April to participate in the Race of the Classics. Over 20 teams sail to England and back over the course of 4 days trying to win the Challenge Cup. It’s a difficult race, but those up to the rough seas get to celebrate upon return with a giant party on Sunday.

Re-enactment of the Battle of Waterloo

Take a step back in time and witness the epic battle of Waterloo, re-enacted annually by almost 1000 volunteers. Completely dressed for battle, these actors provide an inside look into the life of a medieval warrior during the 1800’s. At this series of events you can stroll through the camps set up along the field, learn about the procedures of battle and daily life, and even get an up close peak at the weaponry they used. If bringing children to this event, make sure to attend during the first two days of the festival, when more peaceful re-enactments of the battle are held.
